“Improving Medication Use: Innovations from an IDFS”
The lecturer is William Shrank, MD, MSHS, Chief Medical Officer, UPMC’s Health Plan Division.
As Chief Medical O cer in UPMC’s Health Plan Division, Dr. Shrank focuses on the design and implementation of new payment and delivery models to promote improved population health and advance UPMC’s integrated clinical business strategies.
Before joining UPMC, Shrank served as Senior Vice President, Chief Scienti c O cer, and Chief Medical O cer of Provider Innovation for CVS Health and served as the inaugural Director, Research and Rapid- Cycle Evaluation, for the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation at CMS. He began his career as a physician with Brigham Internal Medicine Associates at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School. He has published over 200 papers on improving the quality of prescribing and the use of chronic medications.
